In January 8th, the Heilongjiang artist “Liu Dechen art ice sculpture 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic mascot ice pier pier donation ceremony” was held at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games Yanqing designated hotel Beijing Jinyu Badaling Crowne Plaza Hotel. Women’s 500 meter speed skating world champion Yu Jing, China’s women’s basketball team former athlete Zheng Haixia, runner up Gao Fangxia of the Beijing Paralympic Games archery archery in 2008, and Heilongjiang artists Liu Dechen and sports circles from Samaranch sports foundation attended the event, and witnessed the Winter Olympic mascot “ice pier pier” ice sculpture artwork in Yanqing area.
The ice sculpture of the Winter Olympic mascot “bingdundun” appeared on the scene is made by artist Liu Dechen. Adhering to the traditional ice carving process, he took ice from the Songhua River, adhered to ice, carved and colored it in 10 days. Among them, the internal hollowing and coloring technology is used, and the thickness of the shell is only about 5cm, so the ice sculpture is very fragile. However, the “ice pier” protection and transportation work was launched in January 4th from the Beijing Winter Olympic Games security service vehicle Oman cold chain car. After more than 1300 kilometers of travel, the valuable artwork was delivered to Yanqing intact.
