Solar O&M Enters the Intelligent Era: Multifit Releases Next-Generation Left & Right Solar Cleaning Robot MR-G2

As global photovoltaic (PV) installed capacity continues to climb, the operation and maintenance (O&M) efficiency and power generation performance of solar power stations have become a focal point of industry attention. Dust, sand and other pollutants can reduce PV panel efficiency by 8% to 30% and cause hot spot effects, severely shortening module lifespan. To address this industry challenge, Beijing Multifit Electric Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Multifit”) today officially released its next-generation Left & Right Solar Cleaning Robot MR-G2, redefining the standards for solar power station cleaning and O&M through intelligent and lightweight innovation.

Industry Challenges Drive Intelligent Cleaning Revolution

Solar power stations are typically built in areas with abundant sunshine but also strong winds, sandstorms, and water scarcity. The accumulation of dust on module surfaces has become an increasingly severe problem. Traditional manual cleaning methods are not only inefficient and costly but also pose safety risks. In this context, automated and intelligent cleaning robots have become the inevitable choice for PV O&M upgrades.

According to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) October 2025 “Renewables” report, global renewable energy growth over the next five years will be primarily driven by the solar PV industry, with solar photovoltaic generation growth expected to account for approximately 80% of global renewable capacity additions. As installation scales expand rapidly, the importance of station O&M — especially module cleaning — has become more prominent than ever.

Multifit, a national high-tech enterprise, has been dedicated to the research, development and production of PV cleaning robots and supporting equipment since its founding in 2009. With over 50 patents and a market presence spanning more than 50 countries worldwide, Multifit has become a leader in the PV intelligent O&M sector. The newly released MR-G2 robot is the result of deep integration between the company’s technical accumulation and market demand.

MR-G2: Perfect Combination of Lightweight Design and Intelligent Control
The next-generation MR-G2 solar cleaning robot has achieved comprehensive breakthroughs in product design, intelligent control, and O&M efficiency:

Ultra-Lightweight for Easy Deployment

Weighing only about 30 kg, the MR-G2 is more than 30% lighter than similar products, significantly reducing transportation and installation difficulties. The equipment can adapt to various array configurations, accommodating single, double, or triple PV panel arrangements with strong versatility.

Excellent Obstacle-Crossing and Adaptive Capability

The robot features outstanding obstacle-crossing performance, capable of easily surmounting slopes, steps, and module misalignments exceeding 50mm. Its proprietary automatic posture correction mechanism effectively prevents the machine from deviating, tilting, or jamming, ensuring stable operation in complex working conditions.

Intelligent Control for Worry-Free O&M

The MR-G2 is equipped with Multifit’s self-developed intelligent management cloud platform, supporting multi-terminal remote control via mobile APP and web. Operators can set cleaning schedules, modes, and speeds anytime, anywhere, enabling fully automatic unattended operation. Even in areas without network coverage, the robot can be operated via wireless remote controller.

High-Efficiency Cleaning, Dry and Wet Modes

The equipment integrates both dry and wet cleaning modes, allowing flexible selection based on actual station conditions. Its special 360° rolling brush design, combined with adjustable brush roller pressure, ensures thorough cleaning while doubling brush lifespan. A single robot can clean up to 1.2 MWp per day.

Green Energy, Self-Sustaining

The robot features an integrated solar charging panel on top, enabling self-powering with 4-6 hours of continuous operation on a full charge, truly achieving green and sustainable O&M operations.

Technology Leadership, Building a New PV O&M Ecosystem

“Our goal is to make solar power station O&M more efficient, intelligent, and economical through technological innovation,” said a Multifit representative. “The MR-G2 is not just a cleaning device — it is a key component of our PV intelligent O&M ecosystem. It helps station owners significantly increase power generation and quickly recover their investment.”

Multifit has obtained ISO9001, ISO14000, ISO45001 and other international system certifications, as well as CE and FCC certifications. The company’s product portfolio covers a full range of solutions from fully automatic cleaning robots to semi-automatic cleaning brushes, and the company continues to deepen its expertise in core technologies such as intelligent inspection, tracking and positioning, and group communication.

With the advancement of the “Dual Carbon” goals, the PV industry is entering a golden development period. Taking the release of the MR-G2 as an opportunity, Multifit will continue to uphold its mission of “Energy efficiency, making green energy accessible to more people,” and is committed to becoming a global leader in PV power generation and robot cleaning O&M, contributing to the global green energy cause.
