1.The number of installations has grown rapidly and the market structure has changed
By February 2025, its installed capacity had exceeded 20 gigawatts, and the number of power stations had surpassed 32,000. The government is also actively exploring new projects. The market structure has also undergone new changes. Among the newly installed capacity, over 76% comes from unlicensed power stations built for “self-generation and self-consumption”, mainly concentrated in the industrial sector, and the main target groups are enterprises and individual property owners. 2. The government has simplified the approval process for building solar power stations
For large-scale ground-mounted power station projects, perhaps considering the various thorny issues such as land acquisition, environmental impact assessment, and approval that exist in ground-mounted power stations in other European countries, the Turkish government stipulates that all large-scale ground-mounted power stations shall be uniformly tendered by the government. The government will handle the land, access, and other matters for the owners. When enterprises bid for power stations, they purchase road permits, land, access points, and so on together. But this path has not been smooth. For photovoltaic projects with a capacity of less than 1MW, due to the absence of access restrictions, they have flourished all over Turkey.

Large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic power stations, as the main type of power station in Turkey, often have a large number of solar panels. It takes a long time to complete a cleaning process and the labor cost is relatively high. Therefore, fully automatic cleaning robots that can operate efficiently between arrays and improve the overall operation and maintenance efficiency are highly favored. Some suppliers have even calculated that for tracked robots, a single person can complete a system of 0.4 megawatts at a time, and the cleaning efficiency is extremely high.
