Low-carbon green transformation development, Ningbo’s first expressway interchange photovoltaic project connected to the grid

Recently, the photovoltaic project located in the Dayin interchange area of Ningbo section of Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway has successfully realized the full flow of the grid, and is expected to produce 1.47 million degrees of clean electricity every year. This project has also become the first expressway interchange photovoltaic project in Ningbo city.

Under the background of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality”, how to accelerate the transformation of energy structure, explore the road of green development, and strive for more possibilities for high-quality sustainable development while stimulating the economic potential of expressway road development? As the expressway operation and management unit, Ningbo Expressway Management Center of Zhejiang Transportation Group sets its eyes on the sunrise track of “photovoltaic”, takes the initiative to plan and find the breakthrough point, and Dayin Interchange area has become the first “outpost” for the trial.

The crossover integration of “high-speed + photovoltaic” is not easy. Since 2022, Ningbo Management Center has actively cooperated with the superior management department to comprehensively investigate the photovoltaic resources in the roof, parking shed and high-speed interchange area of the road stations under its jurisdiction. It has comprehensively evaluated the layout area, land conditions and light conditions, and finally decided to implement the photovoltaic project in the high-speed interchange area.

It is understood that the Dayin interchange photovoltaic project adopts advanced photovoltaic modules to optimize the installation Angle of photovoltaic panels, on the premise of fully considering the safety of the road network operation, using the idle traffic ancillary facilities in the interworking area, a total of 2674 monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules are installed, and finally built 1.47MW distributed photovoltaic power station. The project adopts the grid connection mode of “full access”, and is expected to produce 1.47 million KWH of clean electricity annually, save 588 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide by 147 0 tons of carbon dioxide, and achieve significant energy saving and emission reduction benefits.

The application of the high-speed interworking photovoltaic project has effectively tapped the utilization potential of transportation resources, and the neatly arranged photovoltaic panels are embedded in the interchange area, which also adds a unique landscape.

Next, Ningbo Management Center will further explore the “high-speed +” integrated development strategy, continue to expand the high-speed interworking photovoltaic projects, tap the potential of transportation stock resources, accelerate the pace of “operation to operation”, and promote the construction of expressway low-carbon environmental protection demonstration road.
