Recently, the Institute of Local Self-reliance (ILSR) provided an annual snapshot of the adoption rate of distributed solar in each state of the United States in its “State of Distributed Solar -2024″ report. The results showed that among the total capacity of 32 gigawatts of new solar installed, distributed solar accounted for 5.4 gigawatts.
ILRS defines distributed solar as residential, commercial and industrial (C&I) and community solar. Generally speaking, distributed solar energy can be owned by individuals, small businesses and public entities.
The main survey results indicate that since the ILSR update in 2023, the states with the fastest growth in distributed solar power generation are: states with distributed power generation growth exceeding 1 gigawatt include California (1.5 gigawatts) and New York (0.94 gigawatts); Compared with the 2023 level, the states with an increase of more than 30% in capacity include Maine (44%), Arkansas (37%), Oregon (35%), Montana (35%), and South Dakota (32%).
In 2024, the top five states in terms of solar capacity include: California (39.4GW), Texas (25.4GW), Florida (13.8GW), North Carolina (7.3GW), and Arizona (1.8GW). In terms of distributed solar saturation, measured by the per capita installed distributed solar capacity, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, California and Arizona are in the leading position. Massachusetts, California, Arizona, Nevada and New York all rank among the top ten in terms of total solar capacity and distributed solar saturation.
In response to the development trend and to continuously promote the development of clean energy, Multifit Solar will continue to develop new products, update and iterate existing products, continuously inject R&D funds for innovative development, and continuously supply high-quality and price-competitive products, such as photovoltaic electric cleaning brushes, fully automatic photovoltaic cleaning robots, off-grid inverters, off-grid reverse control integrated machines, photovoltaic controllers, etc. Provide more high-quality products and professional services for photovoltaic consumers.
